Practicum 1 - Methods of Documentation & Measured Drawings
This practicum consists of three projects. The projecst will be carried out throughout the semester where students will be assigned to measure and document a historical / architecturally significant or heritage building and translate all the data into a set of drawings

Module "Methods of Documentation and Measured Drawings" led by Mr. Koh Jing Hao, is an introduction of building measuring and documentation methods to students.
Students are divided into groups and an building of desire by respective course coordinator will be given as task to measure the building and document them. Apart from doing the measuring exercise on site, students will also need to do additional research in order to piece together all the important data about the building. A physical to scale building model will provide additional physical information of the building.
Task:
Project 1:
Students are to produce a manual journal individually to express their observation of the architectural elements of the buildings as well as the culture of the location. By group students are to produce a video that capture the measuring process of the buildings and explain the culture/history of the building as well as the architectural elements of the building.
Project 2:
Students in groups has to produce a report with various aspects of research of the building including history/culture and architecture of the building. Students also has to produce a photobook consists of 50 photos with captions and annotations of the elements as well as the condition of the building.
Project 3:
Students are to produce technical drawings of respective buildings and a physical to scale model of the building to show the additional data such as the construction of the building.
