Module "Building Construction II" lead by Mr Mohamed Rizal Mohamed.
Module Outline
Project 1Sekeletal Construction | Temporary Bus Shelter
Group 30%. Objectives: 1. To create and understanding of skeletal structure and its relevant structural components. 2. To understand how skeletal structure reacts under loading. 3. To demonstrate a convincing understanding on how skeletal construction works. 4. To be able to manipulate skeletal construction to solve an oblique design problem. Tasks: Form a group of 6 people, construct a temporary bus shelter by the scale of 1:5 and produce an A3 bound report. |
|
Final Outcome
The final outcome of the project is a bus stop scale model and report.
Project 2Understanding Forces | Building Construction
Group 40%. Objectives: 1. To create and understanding of building components used and its assembly. 2. To demonstrate good drawing skills in building details and how it reacts under loading and force. 3. To be able to manipulate the selection of materials used and ensure its buildability. Tasks: Form a group of 3people, propose an existing building (tensile structure / grid structure) and identify its structural systems. Produce 1:100 scale replica model and 2 A2 bound presentation boards showing structural analysis and understanding of building. |
