Module "Architectural Design Studio II" led by Ms, Nurul Alia Ahamad, is a module followed up after introduction module Architectural Design Studio I. Studio II allow students to focus on investigating and exploring spaces created from architectural elements such as planes, lines, solid, frames etc.
Throughout the module, students are encpuraged to use pure and diagramatic models to express architectural ideas. Students will undertake a series of studio-based exercises and assignments that requires students to be analytic and use their ability to diagram architectural work of famous architects as well as to produce their own architectural ideas.

Introduction

Objectives: 1. To increase awareness of current environmental issues locally. 2. To induce creativity in attempting to explore the current environmental circumstances. 3. To allow students to explore the opportunity to work with the community and for the community. 4. To create awareness of the importance of creating and environmentally sustainable product/design/services. 5. To be able to understand and explain the principles of sustainability from environmental and social perspective. Tasks: In group of 10, 1. Produce 2 A3 research poster of complete documentation of the entire project from proposal up to completion with LCA. 2. Produce a multimedia presentation on the issue and process taken to resolve the issue. 3. To be able to demonstrate problem-solving skills. 4. Recognise role and responsibility of an architect towards environment and society. 5. Exemplify creativity in attempting to explore the current environmental circumstances. |
